Maturation – Anthony Ward

Life ought to be savoured,
Not consumed.
One should develop a taste for it.

It needs to be appreciated
Like a fine wine,
Distinguished like a malt
Left to mellow over the years
Until all the more potent.

Life shouldn’t be knocked back
And thrown down your throat
With the objective of getting drunk
At such a pace
That sets you under the influence.
