Four Haiku – Virginie Colline

police station room
male voices speaking at once
in the next office

a low-flying bird
in the no-longer blue sky
he lengthens his stride

the rain grows heavy
he waits for the doctor’s call
the anguish showing

the smallest of smiles
economy of movement
on the verge of tears
