The Blessing of Sadness – Jessica Rips

Sadness is a curse

And yet not

Sadness can be torture at times

And we wallow in our own despair

Sadness cripples us

It breaks our emotions

Limb by limb

Sadness consumes us

Like a fire to a match it burns us

But does it destroy us?

It can

But

We can be stronger

Sadness can be defeated

With the help of others

We

   Will

Prevail

Sadness can teach

Experiences following loss and sorrow

Teach us to

Be

An even better person than we were already

And in the end

When it has come to pass

Sadness is a blessing

And with help

We

Shall

Overcome
